MACANS Enhanced Learning (MEL) is designed to aid First & Second Graders with the challenge of adding, subtracting and multiplying. They can choose the highest number to subtract from, the subtraction integer, and the number of problems. Random feature will change the subtraction integer up to the selected. If random is off then the subtraction integer will remain the selected number. The program is designed not to repeat questions in the same set. Greater numbers will allow for more problems. Once all the problems are answered, MEL shows the percentage correct with a summary of the problems. This software is freely available for everyone.

How to use MEL

Getting Started:

1. Launch MEL
2. Select highest number to subtract in the From Drop Box
3. Select the integer in the Subtract Drop Box
4. Click Random (highlights gold) to vary the subtracting integer up to the selected number, otherwise the subtracting integer will remain the selected number.
5. Select the number of Problems. The number of problems changes as the variables are manipulated.
6. Click Start
7. To stop the session click Cancel

Answering Problems:

1. Type the answer in the field to the right of the problem. You can also use the arrows in the box
2. Click GO
3. Answer all the problems

Grading:
Once all the problems are completed for the session MEL will give you a score and point out the incorrect answers.
